A Historic Moment for the Hazara Community at the United Nations
On behalf of the Federation of Hazara Council of Australia, we are proud to announce a historic achievement: for the first time, delegates from our community addressed at the 18th International Human Rights Summit in New York, United Nations. This unprecedented moment, free from political interference, marks a crucial step in our ongoing fight for justice, human rights, and recognition.
The Hazara people have endured systemic discrimination, persecution, and violence for decades. Today, we made sure our voices were heard on the global stage, calling for recognition of the Hazara Genocide and immediate action to end the crisis.
This summit is not just a symbolic gesture; it is a testament to our resilience and unwavering commitment to securing the rights and dignity of the Hazara community. As we continue to fight for justice and equality, we call on the international community to join us in this critical mission.
We invite you to watch Mr. Bashir Fayaq, who deliver his powerful speech at the summit, marking this pivotal moment in our journey for justice and human rights.
Let us continue to rise, challenge injustice, and build a world where every person can live with dignity and opportunity.
A Milestone in the Fight
for Human Rights
We are honoured to share the release of a video produced by the United for Human Rights Team at the United Nations, recorded during the 18th International Human Rights Summit in July 2024. This milestone marks a significant moment in our ongoing fight for justice, equality, and human rights.
As a representative of both Afghanistan and Australia, especially the Hazara community, we were proud to stand in solidarity with others committed to amplifying marginalised voices. This summit provided a platform to highlight the enduring persecution of the Hazara people, as well as the broader struggles faced by communities worldwide.
The release of this video is a call to action for the international community to recognise and address the systemic violations faced by marginalised groups. It serves as a reminder that human rights are an inalienable right, and through collective action, we can work toward a future where dignity and justice are universally upheld.
A special thank you to the United for Human Rights Team, our allies, and the delegates who stood with us at the summit. This milestone is not the end but a new beginning in our collective journey toward justice and equality for all.
Let us continue to rise, challenge injustice, and build a world where every person can live with dignity and opportunity.
